“When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armour in which the man has trusted and divides up the spoils.” [Luke 11:21-22]
There are some Christians who treat the devil as if he’s a wimp. They pay no regard to the fact that although he is a fallen angel, he has not yet been stripped of his power to do evil and harm the unwary. Paul advised that we should not be unaware of his devises. He is evil, ruthless and very cunning. Jesus referred to him as a strong man. He also encouraged us by pointing to the fact that he, Jesus, is stronger. In him we have victory over the devil because he has already defeated the enemy of our souls. We must never underestimate the strength of our foe, but we must also remember that in Christ we had already overcome him. We are not victims any longer. We are victors in Jesus Christ.
